Montessori Island School
About this Organization
For over 23 years, Montessori Island School has been a trusted part of the Livingston community, educating more than 1,000 children through a Montessori approach that fosters purpose, compassion, and a lifelong love of learning. We're the longest-standing early childhood program and only Montessori Elementary in town, with low student-teacher ratios and a team of deeply experienced, Montessori-certified educators, over 75% Montessori certified, with an average tenure of 10+ years.
We're committed to making Montessori education accessible to all families. Today, 70% of our 100 students receive some form of tuition support, totaling over $200,000 in aid, a 33% increase from last year. Our efforts include a sliding scale tuition model, acceptance of state and private scholarships, and added support for families for whom tuition represents a significant share of income.
Support from our Give A Hoot campaign helps sustain these efforts and grow our endowment, ensuring a welcoming, inclusive, and stable school for years to come. At Montessori Island School, we believe that when children grow in love and community, they grow into people who change the world.
