GivE A HOOT

Electric Peak Arts Council

About this Organization

We believe our work serves an important purpose; EPAC events are social activities that are uplifting and enriching, which boost morale in the long winter months and bring people together for a deeper sense of community. We provide a full season of family-friendly entertainment and education that is not currently being offered by any other organization in our northern Yellowstone community. School workshops, provided in conjunction with most of our art events, ensure that local students can participate in additional arts opportunities despite recent school budget cuts and loss of enrollment. This season, we started a school scholarship program, offering three graduating seniors a small cash award. These students must demonstrate an interest in the arts and wish to pursue it beyond high school in some capacity. During this season, EPAC also sponsored two additional requests, including purchasing music for the newly formed community band and purchasing much-needed canvases and art supplies to support the very active high school arts program.

Over 700 area residents and students attend Electric Peak Arts Council (EPAC) programs and school workshops each season. Financial and in-kind support from businesses and individuals like you makes a huge difference in our ability to provide engaging world-class arts programming for the community while keeping admission prices affordable (and free for students and seniors).

As a nonprofit 501(c)(3), the EPAC Board continues to minimize operational expenses. CharityWatch considers a charity to be highly efficient when year-end calculations produce a programming percentage of 75% or greater. EPAC directed 86% of its 2023-24 budget to programming. This would yield an "A" rating with CharityWatch. EPAC strategically develops its board and follows established policies to aid in effective and transparent governance.

The events presented during 2023-2024 included:
- Robin Layne and the Rhythm Makers included 5 percussionists from Canada for a live show (75 attendees), two school workshops (25 students), and a one-hour school performance.
- Champagne Sunday included two musicians from Oregon for a live show (25 attendees), one school workshop (15 students), and a one-hour school performance.
