Upper Yellowstone Watershed Group

About this Organization

With a vision to serve as a trusted voice and forum for robust, collaborative engagement, the Upper Yellowstone Watershed Group (UYWG) works to understand and conserve the Upper Yellowstone watershed, including its agriculture, open space, rural character, wildlife, fisheries, natural resources, and recreational use while protecting private property rights.

The UYWG works to:
- Engage the community through conversations, active-listening, events, hands-on education, and other activities.
- Support and preserve working lands for their agricultural, cultural, open space, and natural resource values.
- Undertake watershed planning through community-based drought planning.
- Conserve and enhance fish, wildlife and habitat resources.
- Maintain access to quality recreation.

In 2024, the work of the UYWG is focused through six programs (each described on Program Tab).
1. River Recreation Use Study
2. Paradise Valley Working Lands Group
3. Community Drought Planning
4. Weed management Collaborative
5. Fish, Wildlife and Recreation Committee
