Ripple: The Center for Education and Ecosystem Studies
About this Organization
Our students become exceptionally engaged in studying the world outside their back door, mimicking biologists and restoration ecologists. Because of their involvement in studying and solving local problems, our program serves as an early pipeline to careers in STEM for regional students. Park County resident and founder of award-winning 5th grade Watershed Warriors, Dr. Chris Pavlovich, will lead this initiative in Park County.
Our professional scientists and educators engage students in place-based, watershed science education such as animal migration, bioaccumulation in aquatic food webs, and osprey evolution and adaptations.
For teachers, we provide professional development in STEM, environmental education place-based pedagogical techniques, and methods for mentoring authentic research projects for their students. We have collaborated and fostered new teaching applications with more than 950 teachers in Montana.
We are excited to partner with Livingston and Gardiner Schools to bring our programming, which has reached over 80,000 students in western Montana, to Park County!
