LBID's role is to fill the gap in downtown services that local government and other organizations have been unable to provide and which individual businesses cannot accomplish on their own. Primary projects include: marketing Downtown Livingston as a vibrant destination, advocating for District businesses, emptying Downtown District sidewalk garbage receptacles, maintaining Downtown light post banners for local nonprofits and community events, snowflake light decor, and flower baskets. Downtown flower baskets are among the organization's most visible and costly projects. LBID also maintains Explore Historic Downtown wayfinding light post banners spanning Park Street from 8th to O Street in addition to District banners.

LBID is free hub for business support, collaborating with multiple State and local entities to provide Downtown business and visitor services. Our website includes business development resources, free Downtown business directories, and relevant news; from the Downtown Master Plan, to co-hosting the Annual Main Street and Downtown Conference this October. Social media promoting Downtown businesses, events and news averages 75 posts per month. We share our Downtown office with Prospera for free monthly business coaching, and send regular Downtown District business resource eblasts.

Our goal is to enhance Downtown for all with judicious fiscal responsibility.
